Teaching Philosophy

One of my greatest joys is helping students discover and develop the unique ability of their voices while working toward their personal singing goals. Sharing your voice can feel vulnerable which is why I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where you can explore your voice and even make a few less-than-beautiful sounds along the way. Those moments are a natural and important part of finding your authentic voice and growing as a singer.
Healthy vocal technique is the foundation of confident, expressive singing and long-term vocal health. Much of our lesson time is dedicated to developing the same science based techniques that are used by many accomplished singers throughout their careers. Through vocal exercises and carefully selected repertoire, you'll build a strong technical foundation that can be applied across a variety of musical styles, including musical theatre, classical, pop, country, choir, worship, and jazz. Beyond technique, we also focus on musicianship, artistry, and authentic expression so you can become not only a skilled vocalist but also a compelling performer. My goal is for every student to leave lessons with greater confidence, healthier singing habits, a deeper understanding of their voice, and an even greater love for making music!
